Overview
The ARB BASE Rack Kit provides a complete roof-mounted cargo system for the 2019–2023 Ford Ranger. Built around ARB's lightweight and low-profile 49 x 51-inch BASE Rack, this complete package includes the vehicle-specific Ranger mounting system, wind deflector, and Trade Side Guard Rails for a ready-to-install cargo carrying solution.
ARB designed the BASE Rack around a unique dovetail extrusion system that runs around the perimeter of the rack and along the internal cross beams. This design provides numerous mounting locations for accessories and allows equipment to be added, removed, or repositioned without disturbing the rest of the cargo on the rack.
The included side guard rails help contain cargo and provide additional tie-down options, while the wind deflector helps manage airflow around the rack for reduced aerodynamic noise during highway driving.

The ARB BASE255 features a 49-inch x 51-inch BASE Rack with fully welded aluminum construction for an excellent combination of strength and low weight. ARB's integrated dovetail mounting system runs around the perimeter and internal beams, providing flexible mounting locations for cargo and compatible BASE Rack accessories. Unlike traditional roof rack channels, the dovetail design is also less prone to collecting dirt and debris.
The complete kit includes the Ranger-specific mounting system, aerodynamic wind deflector, and Trade Side Guard Rails. The guard rails help prevent cargo from shifting off the sides of the rack while providing additional locations for securing equipment.
Construction & Design
The BASE Rack is constructed from lightweight, high-strength aluminum with a fully welded design that provides rigidity without unnecessary weight. Its low-profile platform design keeps cargo close to the roof for a streamlined appearance while providing a large usable surface for carrying camping equipment, recovery gear, storage cases, and other accessories.
ARB's dovetail extrusion system eliminates the need for conventional accessory channels. Compatible accessories clamp directly onto the dovetail, allowing individual accessories to be installed, removed, or repositioned without unloading or disassembling the rest of the rack.
The included wind deflector is positioned at the front of the rack to help manage airflow, while the Trade Side Guard Rails add raised edges along the sides of the platform to help contain cargo.
