FOX 2.5 Performance Rear Shock – 1.5–2.5 in. Lift | Ford Ranger 4WD (2024–2026) (987-24-073)

Part #: 987-24-073

Overview

The FOX 987-24-073 2.5 Performance Series rear shock is designed for the 2024–2026 Ford Ranger. It controls suspension movement in the lift configuration listed below, helping the truck stay composed on uneven roads and off-road surfaces.

The internal floating piston separates the high-pressure nitrogen charge from the shock oil. That separation helps prevent aeration so the vehicle-specific damping remains consistent as the suspension moves over rough roads and trails.

Key Features

• 2.5-inch monotube IFP shock.
• Valving developed for the listed vehicle application.
• Shock stroke: 10.23 inches.

Construction & Design

The aluminum shock body uses a clear-anodized finish for corrosion resistance and heat dissipation. An internal floating piston separates the oil and nitrogen charge.

• Extended shock length: 28.12 inches.
• Compressed shock length: 17.89 inches.
• Shock stroke: 10.23 inches.
• Upper mount: Eyelet.

Installation & Fitment

• Install in the rear shock locations using the mount types listed below. This shock does not raise vehicle ride height; the existing springs and lift components determine the stance.
• Fits the listed 4WD Ranger application and excludes Ranger Raptor.
• Use the rear lift height when selecting a rear shock; a lift kit’s advertised front height may differ from its rear height.
