Overview

The FOX 985-24-157 2.0 Performance Series front shock is designed for the 2017–2026 Ford Super Duty. It controls suspension movement in the lift configuration listed below, helping the truck stay composed on uneven roads and off-road surfaces.

The internal floating piston separates the high-pressure nitrogen charge from the shock oil. That separation helps prevent aeration so the vehicle-specific damping remains consistent as the suspension moves over rough roads and trails.

Construction & Design

2.0” Impact extruded and CNC machined 6061-T6 clear anodized aluminum one-piece body resists rust over time.

5/8" hard chrome plated heat-treated alloy steel.

The seal system combines a main seal, wiper, and scraper to protect the working components.

• Extended shock length: 27.58 inches.
• Compressed shock length: 16.7 inches.
• Shock stroke: 10.63 inches.
• Upper mount: Stem Top.
• Lower mount: Eyelet.

Installation & Fitment

• Install in the front shock locations using the mount types listed below. This shock does not raise vehicle ride height; the existing springs and lift components determine the stance.
• FOX application notes: 2017–2019: 6 inch lift | 2020 and newer within the listed years (Non-Tremor): 7 inch lift | Tremor: 5 inch lift.
• Minimum bump-stop spacer: 2.5 inches, as specified by FOX for this application. Verify these dimensions against the installed suspension.
• Minimum spring free length: 25.6 inches, as specified by FOX for this application. Verify these dimensions against the installed suspension.
