Overview

The FOX 987-24-002 2.5 Performance Series front shock is designed for the 2017–2026 Ford Super Duty. It controls suspension movement in the lift configuration listed below, helping the truck stay composed on uneven roads and off-road surfaces.

Hydraulic Top Out adds position-sensitive rebound control near full extension. Oil is directed through a secondary shim stack to slow the shaft as the suspension approaches top-out, reducing harsh extension events that can be more noticeable with larger tires or lifted suspension.

Construction & Design

The aluminum shock body uses a clear-anodized finish for corrosion resistance and heat dissipation. An internal floating piston separates the oil and nitrogen charge.

• Upper mount: Stem Top.
• Lower mount: Eyelet.

Installation & Fitment

• Install in the front shock locations using the mount types listed below. This shock does not raise vehicle ride height; the existing springs and lift components determine the stance.
• FOX application notes: 2017–2019: 2.5 inch lift | 2020 and newer within the listed years (Non-Tremor): 2.5-3.5 inch lift | Tremor: 1-1.5 inch lift.
• Minimum bump-stop spacer: 1.5 inches, as specified by FOX for this application. Verify these dimensions against the installed suspension.
• Minimum spring free length: 22.2 inches, as specified by FOX for this application. Verify these dimensions against the installed suspension.
